Picking Up The Car

I went and picked up the Cougar from the Previous owner this morning and other than the first rental company flaking on me, I managed to get another rental trailer and the rest of the day couldn't have gone smoother. After i picked up the car, I went to a pay n spray and cleaned out the exterior of the car and I also degreased the engine, I also used their high powered vacuum to clean out the interior which was really clean other than an old seat cover that had spread deteriorated foam all over the interior. Anyways here are some pictures

My 68 Cougar XR7

Ill start this story by telling everyone that I am currently living in Denver Co after an unannounced move from Austin, Texas. Back In Austin I had a 1967 Chevy Impala that I had bought when I was Fifteen, in the year or so that followed I pulled the front clip, sandblasted the inner fenders and detail painted the engine bay. While this was all happening I was assembling a stock rebuild on a 283 SBC, I detail painted this too, I then installed the engine fired it up and started working on making the car roadworthy, during this time my took a job in Denver so i had to leave my Impala behind, rather than waste a rebuilt engine I pulled it and sold it, then I pushed the car to the back of our property in Austin where It still sits today. Ive now been here in Denver for about a year and have finally found a car that I can resume tinkering with and that car is a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7, I bought the car from a couple named Joel and Jari. Jari's brother bought the car new in 1968 with a 4-speed, 302 and A/C, in 1978 he sold the car to Jari. The car has been with her since then and had been driven by her sons to their high schools when they were teenagers. The car is in remarkably good condition with the only rust issues being behind the rear wheel wells on both sides and in front of the wheel well on the passenger side. I have pictures to post from the Advertisement and i won't have anymore pictures until I pick the car up this weekend. Check them out
